Where do I start in Chanbara?(The martial arts of the japanese sword)?

I am currently doing Muay Thai right now. I was wondering though on how I can find a school that teaches the art of the Japanese sword. I understand there are various forms of Japanese swordsmanship like Goshindo and Kenjitsu. However, I want to get ya'lls input on how I could get myself into class. I live in Marietta, Georgia and I am willing to go even 100 miles to see what its all about! Can you help me?

You really just gotta see whats in your area. A lot of places don't have a Chanbara club/dojo. You just have to see what options you have before you decide on a specific style.

Searching online for schools in your area is a good start but a lot of schools still don't have websites. Put a question in your local Craig's List asking about the martial arts schools in your area. Ask the local martial arts supply stores what schools are around. Check your yellow pages. Check the classifieds in your local papers. See if there is a Yahoo Groups for martial artist in your area.

Once you feel comfortable that you are aware of the schools in your area decide what styles interest you, call the teachers and ask about their schools. Most if not all will invite you to come by and take a look. Accept as many of their offers as you can.

Once you know what is in your area you can decide who you want to learn from. It may turn out that there are no schools in your area that train with the sword. I live in Houston, Tx which has an area of 600 square miles not including the surrounding suburbs/towns and we only have two schools that teach eastern sword arts though there are reputed to be several clubs.
