Buying a USABLE Katana Sword?
Hi, I'm interested in buying a katana that I can actually use, I've practiced with a wooden one for about a month, I want to see what the real deal is like, I just don't want to spend over $120 and I want it to be nice and sturdy... not something that will break if I swing it at test dummy such as how a simple display sword would.
Are there any websites I can check out?
Michael is right. Only wallhangers are going for under $120. Don't buy a cheap decorative sword to use or you are in danger of doing damage to yourself from a bending or breaking blade. After only a month of practise, you won't be ready for a real sword yet. I did 140 hours with practise swords before taking the next step. Think about this - are you still hitting yourself with the wooden sword occasionally? Do you always hit the target exactly as you plan? Sharp blades are very unforgiving.
