Houston is a city that has events and activities to do all year long. If you happen to be visiting Houston in the near future, or you now reside in Houston, you will get advantages from the list of attractions to do in and around the Houston area.
Kemah Board Walk
The Kemah Boardwalk has quickly developed from a waterfront dining experience to a weekend destination. Roller coasters, Ferris wheels and other carnival rides make it fun for all ages. Kemah Boardwalk offers a spread of dining options all overlooking the water. Inside walking distance of the board walk is the Lighthouse District where one can find onstage music and a selection of bars and cafes wonderful for enjoying the Kemah nightlife.
Bayou Place:
If you're bored with the same old night life scenes and you have never been to Live! At Bayou Place, then this is surely where you need to go on your next outing. Live! At Bayou Place is like going to four bars at once. I say this because when you go in you've an option of going to four different bars. Each bar has its own unique vibrant atmosphere. The Shark Bar offers their own unique drinks while flooding your ears with retro music and is considered by many to be one of the best Houston bars. PBR Houston is a cowboy bar which has stunning decor, live music and a mechanical bull to ride. Chapel Spirits is a good place for any company happy hour event or party. Lucie's Liquors has a superb beer and alcohol selection, good for partying or merely relaxing with a cold drink. There's also an excellent selection of food and dining offered. The ever famous Hard Rock Caf, which does not need any introduction, there's the Sambuca Grill which offers South American food and an extensive wine selection, or the Blue Fish which is one of the finest sushi places offered in Houston.
Saint Arnolds:
Looking for something to do on a Friday afternoon or Saturday morning? Think about touring Texas ' oldest and most prestige craft brewery. After the tour, attendants are encouraged to get together in the main area to enjoy tasting the different sorts of lager on tap. The primary area seems like a high school cafeteria where tons of folks come to drink the assorted beers, or root beer, and play various board games that they bring themselves. It's a excellent way to meet new people and relate among beer enthusiasts all while sipping a freshly-brewed beer.
Discovery Green:
Discovery Green is full of activities all year long. There is a skating rink in the winter and remote controlled sail boats during the summer months. Tons of live outdoor music is hosted throughout the year from some of the most notable local and regional performers. Outdoor movies are regularly offered featuring popular family friendly and date worthy films. Other parts of the park include gateway fountains and mist trees for the kids, play areas, dog runs, lakes and jogging trails.
Renaissance Festival:
The Texas Renaissance Festival is one of the largest, most acclaimed Renaissance festivals in Texas and offers themed festival events for 8 weekends in the Fall. It's fun for both children and grownups alike. Enjoy outstanding performances from jousting to gypsy dances, comedy shows, mud wrestling and glass blowing. There's so much to do here it will take you two trips to be able to see it all. Be ready to bring a good attitude and a sense of humour because you may be roped into an unplanned performance out of the blue. In addition to the shows, you can visit Sherwood Forest and practice your axe/knife throwing abilities, archery or drench the wench activities. For those who have not ever been to the festival, it'll be an experience like nothing else!
