Can You Lose Weight By Every Other Day Eating?
Doughnuts make me happy
There has got to be better ways to lose weight than starving yourself and there is. When you stop to think about it, starving yourself is counter productive. Aside from the fact that your body may not get the nutrition it needs, starving yourself requires an iron will power and is only sustained by a few joyless, thin people in the world—of course, not all thin people are joyless, only those that are starving themselves to be that way. The body will maintain its own proper weight if we feed it properly and that is where the rub is. I don't know about you, but a hot Krispy Kreme doughnut makes me happier than a hot stalk of broccoli—even with butter.
The dilemma
It seems that I can either eat what makes me happy and be fat, or eat what is good for me, maintain a healthy weight and be miserable—sigh! Then, I thought, why not split the difference? You could call it every other day eating. You could spend every other day eating what is good for you and then every other day eating what makes you happy or chases away the blues for a little while at least. Or maybe you could simply spend every other day eating and fast in between, that way you'd be happy eating and maybe still lose weight. The only drawback to that was the little voice inside my head that told me I'd drop dead of a heart attack or stroke and I knew it was right. Besides my Adonis-want-to-be side of my nature didn't think I'd look all that good either.
Every Other Day Eating
Then I ran across the Eat Every Other Day Diet or EODD for short and I thought, gee, someone stole my idea. It turns out that wasn't quite true. Even this Eat Every Other Day Diet did not allow a person to only eat every other day. EODD did suggest that you vary your calories so that your body didn't get used to the way you were dieting and quit losing its fat. That made sense! The EODD diet didn't have every other day eating, but it did have feed days where you could eat pizza, doughnuts, pastries, and such. Wow! and Yum! You couldn't spend every other day eating this way but the EODD diet (Eat Every Other Day Diet) allowed you to do it frequently enough that you could be happy.
Weight loss: a surprising side effect of the EODD diet!
I got so excited about The Every Other Day Diet with its feed days that it almost surprised me when the fat started dropping off my body and you know what, that made me happy also. Now I had two things that made me happy: Food on feed days and losing weight. The burn days as they are called were not that bad especially because I could look forward to the feed days. So even though the EODD diet wasn't every other day eating, The Every Other Day Diet was the key to my success. An eat every other day diet probably won't work, but the Every Other Day Diet does. At least for me.
