on the back of it it says:
-INCABLOC ANTIMAGNETIC STAINLESS STEEL BACK-

on the back of the wrist strap it says -speidel-.....twice on each link!!

all help would be greatly helpful to any bit of origin of this watch or its current value or past value!!
yours truly,
Tom Martin.
yes this is wind up!

ORIOSA is a retro swiss brand from the 50's, 60's and 70's. They don't appear to be in operation anymore and are unremarkable as a brand. When the watch says "17 jewels" it is referring to the number of rubies in the movement (this one would be mechanical) that act as bearings for moving parts.

The reference to INCABLOC means that this particular watch is equipped with a shock absorber to keep the balance wheel in alignment and therefore ensure good timing. At the time, this was a new feature in mechanical watches and would be advertised heavily. Today, incabloc is the de-facto standard shock absorber for mechanical watches.

Price range for this brand varies drastically. Ebay auctions start in the $30 range, which suggests that these watches are outright fakes or heavily restored/modified. I would suspect a genuine Oriosa with all original parts could be between $300-$500USD if it were in working condition.
